David Simmons
Associate Attorney
I am passionate about family law. I take great pride in helping my clients through some of the most difficult times of their lives. I begin every case by first putting myself in my client’s shoes. I am a great listener and I am very easy to talk to. Ever the optimist, I approach each case with a positive outlook, choosing to find great opportunity in any difficulty that life may bring.
I am the lawyer you want handling your family law case. I excel at problem solving. I am level headed and I see the big picture. I will remain focused on your objectives, even if you can’t. Clients choose me, not just for my legal skills, but for the comfort and peace of mind I consistently deliver. I am a dedicated attorney who strives to provide the highest quality of service while meeting client needs with the utmost care and courtesy.
I recognize that no two family law cases are exactly the same, and I enjoy working with my clients to develop a unique plan of action for each case. Whether it is mediation or litigation, I am adaptable and can quickly respond to the demands of the moment. This gives me an edge in family law, where new conflicts often arise at a moment’s notice. I am persuasive and articulate, and I have a natural talent for storytelling.
I practice family law because family has always been important to me. For over 16 years, I worked closely with my own family on my grandparents’ vegetable farm. I know the importance of family. I am also not afraid of hard work. I will always strive to give you the exact type of representation that I would want if I were in need of an attorney.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While at UNC, I was a resident advisor, a volunteer with the Campus YMCA, and an active member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. I later received my Juris Doctor degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law, where I graduated Cum Laude and in the top twelve percent of my class. During law school, I was a member of the North Carolina Central University Law Review, and was a 2007-2008 Womble Carlyle Scholar.
My wife and I moved to Charlotte, my wife’s hometown, in 2010. Since that time, I have gained valuable experience in both civil and criminal law. When I am not practicing law, I enjoy exercising, playing pool, watching the Carolina Panthers, spending time outdoors, and traveling. I especially enjoy spending family time with my wife and son, David II.
